About Us

Our Chief Instructor

Name: Steven
Age: 33
Military Career: Steven joined the British Army in January 2007 at the age of 19. He initially joined the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick, North Yorkshire, in the hopes of joining the elite Parachute Regiment. Unfortunately this wasn't to be, Steven soon became injured and was unable to continue attempting such a physically demanding role and so he transferred to Army Training Regiment Pirbright in Surrey. Here he continued his training to join The Royal Regiment of Artillery. During training Steven enjoyed the routine and structure the military brought. He participated in Adventurous Training with vigour. Steven was then posted to The Royal School of Artillery in Larkhill, Wiltshire to conduct his trade specific training. Upon Completion Steven was posted to 39th Regiment Royal Artillery. Steven became a subject matter expert in the Armoured Fighting Vehicle 432 MK3 Bulldog & a highly skilled artillery command systems operator. In July 2011, Steven deployed to Afghanistan for an operational tour. Whilst deployed Steven played his part in conducting fire missions in support of ground forces. In 2013, Steven was volunteered for and was selected for compulsory redundancy, Steven retired from Her Majesty's Armed Forces in December 2013 after almost seven years service.

Life After The Army

Initially Steven struggled when faced with civilian life. He found employment hard to find but the resilience instilled in Steven by the military soon kicked in and he found employment in the security industry but the roles left Steven unfulfilled that was until he changed step completely and became an Outdoor Adventure Instructor in Liverpool. Steven loved using his military skills to enable young people and adults achieve things they believed impossible. Unfortunately. this would come to an abrupt end, Steven then moved into the world of warehousing, here Steven gained his Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work again utilising the skills imparted on him during his military service. After three years in warehousing Steven made a leap back into the world of education becoming a Military Instructor & Outreach Mentor with an Alternative Education & Intervention Provider. Steven thrived in this role and experienced a vast amount of success in his outreach role. Again, using his military skills he inspired young minds to believe that they can achieve and exceed their personal & educational goals. Instilling confidence, self-esteem, resilience, respect, self-discipline and conflict management skills in young people with a variety of emotional and behavioural disorders, special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health needs.
